Young Star Driving School

Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions explain the rules that apply when a student registers, books lessons, uses school services, or arranges a school vehicle for a road test with Young Star Driving School.

Last Updated: May 28, 2026

By registering, booking, paying, or using services from Young Star Driving School, the student agrees to follow these Terms & Conditions. These terms are intended to keep school services clear, fair, safe, and properly organized.

1. Beginner Driver Education Course Requirements

Students enrolled in the Ministry of Transportation Ontario approved Beginner Driver Education program must complete all required course components in accordance with Ministry standards, approved course-provider requirements, and school requirements.

Required components may include:

  • 20 hours of online or in-class instruction
  • 10 hours of home-link, flexible instruction, or related assignments
  • 10 hours of in-vehicle training with a licensed instructor

Completion of all required components is mandatory. Course completion or certification cannot be processed until all required components are completed and recorded.

2. BDE Certificate Eligibility

BDE completion may be processed only after the student successfully completes all required online or classroom instruction, home-link or flexible instruction, and in-vehicle training.

Completing an approved Beginner Driver Education course may allow a G1 licence holder to become eligible for the G2 road test earlier, subject to Ministry recording, processing, and applicable rules.

3. Course and Package Completion Timeline

Students must complete all required components of their registered course or package within the timeline confirmed at registration and in accordance with applicable school, approved course-provider, and Ministry requirements.

Failure to complete the course or package within the required period may result in forfeiture of unused lessons, sessions, or services, subject to applicable school policy and legal requirements.

4. Extra Lessons and Mini-Packages

Mini-package students are subject to the package terms confirmed at registration.

Extra, refresher, or private lessons must be paid in full before the lesson is scheduled, unless otherwise confirmed by the school in writing.

5. Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy

A minimum of 24 hours’ advance notice is required to cancel or reschedule any scheduled in-vehicle training session.

Sessions cancelled without the required notice may be charged, forfeited, or treated as completed without credit or refund.

Repeated late cancellations or missed appointments may result in additional scheduling conditions at the school’s reasonable discretion.

6. Refund Policy and Administrative Charges

Refund eligibility depends on the selected course, package, stage of training, course access, instructor assignment, lessons already completed, and administrative work already performed.

  • An administration fee may apply where a student withdraws or requests a refund after registration processing has started.
  • Mini-package registrations may be non-refundable once booked, assigned, started, or partially used, unless otherwise required by law.
  • A full refund for a full BDE course may be available only if no online, in-class, home-link, flexible, or in-vehicle training has started, subject to school policy and applicable law.
  • A fee may apply to dishonoured, failed, reversed, or returned payments.

7. Required Materials

Students are responsible for obtaining and using required learning materials where applicable, including the Official Ontario Driver’s Handbook and any course materials communicated at registration.

8. Pickup and Service Area

Pickup and drop-off services for in-vehicle training are available only within the school’s designated service area and are subject to instructor availability, package terms, road conditions, and scheduling.

Students outside the designated service area may be asked to meet at a confirmed pickup location. Additional charges may apply for out-of-area pickup, drop-off, or road test support where applicable.

9. Authority to Release Information to the Ministry of Transportation

By registering with Young Star Driving School, the student and, where applicable, their parent or guardian, authorize the school to release required course records, registration information, and training data to the Ministry of Transportation Ontario and to any authorized regulatory body, auditor, or government authority where required or permitted by law.

10. Personal Information and Ministry-Related Notice

Personal information related to driver education, licensing, course administration, certification, and records may be collected, used, or disclosed where required or permitted by applicable law, Ministry requirements, approved course-provider requirements, or school administration.

For details about how Young Star Driving School handles personal information, please review our separate Privacy Policy.

11. Road Test Vehicle Use

Use of a school vehicle for a road test is subject to selected package terms, vehicle availability, instructor availability, DriveTest location, student readiness, weather conditions, road conditions, and any additional fee for out-of-area DriveTest centres.

Young Star Driving School may refuse or delay the use of a school vehicle for a road test if the instructor believes the student is not ready or may create a safety risk.

12. DriveTest Fees and Road Test Bookings

DriveTest fees are separate from school fees unless clearly stated in the selected package.

If Young Star Driving School books or pays a DriveTest fee on behalf of a student, reimbursement may be required.

Students are responsible for confirming the road test date, time, location, licence validity, and DriveTest requirements.

13. Student Conduct and Safety

Students must follow traffic laws, instructor directions, DriveTest rules, and safe driving practices.

Unsafe, abusive, threatening, discriminatory, dishonest, or inappropriate behaviour may result in cancellation, refusal, or termination of services.

14. Vehicle Damage, Tickets, and Extra Charges

Students may be responsible for any ticket, toll, penalty, damage, cleaning cost, or extra charge caused by their actions during a lesson, road test, or school vehicle use.

15. Weather, Emergencies, and Vehicle Issues

Lessons or road test support may be rescheduled due to unsafe weather, instructor emergency, vehicle issues, DriveTest changes, road safety concerns, or circumstances beyond reasonable control.

16. No Guarantee of Road Test Result

Young Star Driving School provides driving instruction, preparation, and support. Passing a road test is not guaranteed.

Road test results are determined by DriveTest examiners and the student’s actual driving performance.

17. Limitation of Responsibility

Young Star Driving School is not responsible for road test results, student performance, DriveTest decisions, scheduling changes made by DriveTest, or losses caused by a student’s failure to follow traffic laws, DriveTest rules, instructor guidance, or these Terms & Conditions, except where responsibility cannot be excluded by law.

18. Website Accuracy

Young Star Driving School tries to keep website information accurate and updated.

Packages, prices, schedules, service areas, policies, and availability may change. Students should confirm current details before registration, payment, or booking.
