Duration of Package 2 and certification
Our G2 Testing and Training package available at https://youngstardrivingschool.com/. Congratulations on obtaining your G1 license. We would be delighted to assist you in your driver training journey.
Regarding your inquiry about the duration of the course, the MTO Certification Package PKG-2 typically takes an average of 4-6 weeks to complete. However, the duration of the course can vary depending on your progress and availability.
We usually recommend that learners complete the online and in-car components side by side to ensure comprehensive learning. Although there is no restriction from the MTO to complete the online course first, we prefer this approach.
Based on your timeline, you would be looking to take the Road Test sometime in January/February, which is approximately 8 months from now. This should provide ample time to complete the PKG-2 course. Please note that after the completion of MTO certification, you will be eligible to book your road test four months earlier than the standard waiting period.
Regarding the driving center for the Road Test, we book with the nearest DriveTest center to your location. Therefore, we will book the Toronto Metro East Drive Test Center for your road test.
We would be delighted to work with you to create a customized schedule that suits your availability. To move forward, please provide your availability for the next two weeks, and we will assign an in-car trainer to conduct the in-car training sessions at the earliest available times.

What are the requirements for a disabled driver’s license?
The specific requirements for a disabled driver’s license vary by state. In general, applicants must meet the same requirements as any other driver, such as passing a written and driving test. However, some Provinces may require additional documentation or testing for individuals with certain disabilities, such as a medical certificate or a road test with adaptive equipment.
What kinds of adaptive equipment are available for disabled drivers?
There are many types of adaptive equipment available to help disabled drivers operate a vehicle safely and comfortably. Some common types of equipment include hand controls, pedal extensions, wheelchair lifts or ramps, and modified steering systems. The specific equipment that is right for each driver depends on their individual needs and abilities.

When does the Course Fee become due
The Course Fee becomes due when a student has been enrolled in the Beginner Driver Education Program and the student has started the online course.
How much of the course fee must be processed?
The Course Fee has to be processed in full except in one situation when someone needs a payment plan.
Payment Plan: $200 becomes due when a student starts the online component of the Program and the remaining Fee is due before the start of the first in-car lesson.
How to pay the course fee?
Course Fee can be processed by the following options;
- Interac e-transfer
- Direct Deposit to our Official TD Bank Account.
- Through our electronic invoice link by using a credit card.
Once I finish the online component of the course, how do I book in-car driving lessons?
We prefer that our learners start the Online and in-car training training side by side, as it helps to blend in the online fresh learning to practical driving maneuvers.
In case a student prefers to complete the online component first and then to start the in-car training, as they finish the online component, Digital Instructor updates the student course completion record and recommends the school to assign the in-car training right away.
Student can also email the school for scheduling the sessions as well.
How I'll get to know that my Fee has been received if I pay through interac e-transfer?
Once a student uses our official webmail address(info@youngstardrivingschool.com) for interac e-transfer they end up at our Official Direct Deposit account of “Young Star Driving School” and that payment record is an undeniable proof of payment for any reference and record. As the school receives the payment an official receipt of payment is forwarded to the client through email.

Beginner Driver Education Certification Program
Welcome to our Beginner Driver Education (BDE) Certification Program. We provide comprehensive driver training through flexible online learning and practical in-car sessions. Contact us today to register!
Online Learning Component
The online portion of the BDE program is self-paced and asynchronous, allowing learners to complete the coursework at their convenience from any location. This flexibility enables students to progress through the material without scheduled video sessions.
In-Car Training Sessions
Currently, we offer both online and in-car training sessions. In-class sessions are not available at this time. The online classes are accessible at any time within one year from the start date, allowing learners to progress at their own pace.
Program Structure
- Simultaneous Learning: Students can undertake online and in-car training concurrently, as permitted by the Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO).
- Enrollment Process: Upon receiving the registration form, students are promptly enrolled with the MTO and our online course. A link to begin the program is sent via email.
- Instructor Assignment: After starting the online program, an in-car instructor is assigned to schedule the first driving session. We encourage students to coordinate their online learning with in-car training.
- Flexible Scheduling: The online component is fully autonomous, allowing students to log in and out at their convenience. Most students complete the online portion within two to four weeks, though some may finish in as little as four days.
- In-Car Sessions: Driving sessions are scheduled based on the student’s availability, with Ministry guidelines permitting a maximum of two hours and a minimum of one hour per session.
Insurance and Discounts
While we cannot provide specific insurance advice, completing the BDE program may qualify you for insurance discounts. We recommend consulting a licensed insurance broker with questions such as:
- “I am purchasing this vehicle; what will the insurance cost?”
- “If I complete a Beginner Driver Education Program, what discount will I receive on my monthly premium?”

Ministry of Transportation (MTO) Digital Learning Proposal
The MTO is considering introducing a digital delivery option for driver training programs, starting with the motorized snowmobile operator’s course and the BDE Program. This initiative aims to provide an additional delivery method alongside the traditional in-classroom approach, reflecting feedback from stakeholders and evolving consumer needs.
A draft digital learning standard has been created based on research and consultation. The MTO invites feedback, which can be submitted via email to ETOtraining@ontario.ca.
